Getting Started

How to Get Started

Congratulations on taking the first step in joining CrossFit Lancaster!

If you would like to join us for a free intro class, we’d love to have you! Please fill out the form below and one of our trainers will be in touch with you as soon as possible!

We look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your goals!

Now that that is taken care of, what’s next?

Step 1

Come to the CrossFit Lancaster “box” at 1200 Corporate Blvd, Ste. 4b and introduce yourself. We are coaches and you are the athlete. Coaches and athletes work side by side to reach goals. They know one another and to get that off to a good start, we want to meet you–in person. E-mails and phone calls are a great start, but eventually, we will be face to face. So come in on today. You are welcome to walk in and observe a class and ask questions.

Step 2

We are not in the fitness business to sell you anything. We are coaches. With that being said, we want to ensure that you begin your journey towards a fit and healthy life in the right way. If you are new to CrossFit, we will sign you up for the Beginners Classes, they meet at 5:30 PM Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and 9:00AM Saturdays. Prior to beginning the CrossFit program, each athlete must be able to perform the nine fundamental movements that are the backbone of CrossFit training. This teaching, or “Foundations”, is done over the course about a month of  1-hour small group sessions. During these sessions, a CrossFit Lancaster coach will provide personal instruction of the nine fundamental movements of CrossFit.  We want to make sure that you are structurally sound to get your body prepared in the right way. You have to learn to crawl before you can walk right?  If you already have CrossFit experience, great! But you too will have to be evaluated and given the green light before you head into our programming.

There are no other requirements to join our family – other than you choosing which membership package you want. Let us take care of the paperwork and programming so you can enjoy your fitness journey and the CrossFit Lancaster community.

Step 3

After graduating from the Beginners Class, you will be given the go-ahead to begin training with the regular CrossFit Classes. As you become more familiar with our coaching and programming, we will adjust each workout so that you are maximizing your athletic potential while keeping safety as the number one priority. If at any time you do not feel comfortable with a particular movement or have questions please ask! We love to talk about what we love to do – coach you!

In the event that either you or your trainer are uncomfortable about moving on to regular CrossFit classes, you are more than welcome to continue the Beginners class until you and the Coaches feel you are ready to move on.  This will help to ensure you’ve mastered the CrossFit “basics” of form and movement well enough to safely participate in more advanced workouts.

Step 4

And now you are on your way! There are plenty of CrossFit class options to choose from. We recommend training 5 days per week, setting up a 3 days on/1 day off, 2 days on/1 day off schedule. We know that sometimes that doesn’t fit into your busy lives. So we can discuss other alternatives, just ask us!  We do however want our athletes to be rested and recovered properly. That means – recovering with the right fuel, rest and relaxation.

From here, make sure you arrive on time to class. We take class attendance seriously because when we are in class, we are teaching you important things and it doesn’t help your progress to miss any of that valuable information. Secondly, it just stinks when you walk in late and everyone else is on time. Be respectful of your community of fellow athletes as well.

Ok, now it’s your turn to come by the “box” and introduce yourself to us. While you are here, we will welcome you to your new family and get you on your way to your first CrossFit Lancaster workout.
